The film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is set to launch on December 18, 2015. A new 360 video was featured by the official Facebook page to give fans a tour of the Jakku desert.

“Speed across the Jakku desert from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with this immersive 360 experience created exclusively for Facebook,” the caption read.

Screen Rant writes that Jakku is a new planet in the “Star Wars” story that has been widely featured in various promotional materials. Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) were previously shown in trailers traversing through the seemingly hot desert. Rey was particularly shown riding her Speeder across the sands. Now, “Star Wars” fans can have a virtual reality experience as if they were on the same vehicle. Facebook members can use their mouse to pan out and explore the environment thoroughly for almost one minute.

The video provides a quick but informative tour of the Star Destroyer graveyard. The Speeder moved across the vast terrain, with ruins and broken structures left and right. However, Jakku is not completely desolate, as users will come across another speeder driver during their short journey. The other driver actually showed some road rage. There is also a tiny scavenger drawing a wagon containing scrap materials. The droid BB-8 also made a cameo appearance. Some fans might run the video a number of times to try and search for the droid.

Considering how director J.J. Abrams has been very secretive about the upcoming film in the past several weeks, the new “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” 360 video should suffice fans for a few more weeks. Those looking to get more details about the plot will not get much from the new marketing content, however.

The planet Jakku will most likely be one of the main locations in the upcoming film. The upcoming game “Star Wars: Battlefront” hinted that the Battle of Jakku might be shown or at least mentioned in the new movie. The Battle of Jakku happened 29 years before the events of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Screen Rant wrote that the Battle of Jakku is most likely one of the more destructive battles in “Star Wars” lore. The fight involved the super structures of the Star Destroyers and the small Rebel soldiers against the Imperial troops. This might explain why the place is in ruins in Rey’s time.

More updates and promotional materials for “Star Wars Episode 7” are expected soon.
