Is this phenomenon divine intervention of sorts? Or is this a signal for mobile users to take a moment to pause and reflect? After all, Pope Francis had admonished families earlier this year to put down those gadgets and actually talk to each other.

In the wake of the Pope's US visit, iPhone shipments may be delayed as UPS and FedEx services in New York and Philadelphia may be disrupted from September 24 to 26. This is due to "security requirements and limitations" that come with an event of this caliber, according to UPS in a released statement.

"Apple's latest mobile phone is expected to land on doorsteps Friday," The Wall Street Journal reported. "Several wireless carriers, including Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile US Inc., for example, listed the iPhone 6s on their websites as a Friday delivery."

"New York could experience a service disruption Thursday and Friday, " the publication added. "Philadelphia is expected to get hit Friday and Saturday."

This kind of delay is out of Apple's hands as this is the last stage of the product's delivery. However, the Cupertino-based company is aware of the delays.

The company will be releasing the latest iPhone models in retails stores beginning this Friday.

Mashable has listed the ZIP codes affected by the service disruption. It said that UPS won't be accommodating pick ups or deliveries in the following New York ZIP codes on Thursday and Friday this week: 10001, 10007, 10017, 10021, 10022, 10023, and 10029.

"The affected areas in New York City are all in Manhattan, including parts of Chelsea, Civic Center, East Harlem, Midtown, Tribeca and the Upper East Side and Upper West Side. Pope Francis will be making appearances in those areas at St. Patrick's Cathedral, United Nations headquarters, 9/11 Museum, Central Park, Madison Square Garden and elsewhere next Thursday and Friday," MacRumors also relayed.

The following Philadelphia ZIP Codes also won't be serviced by UPS on Friday and Saturday this week: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19106, 19107, 19109, 19123, 19130, 19146, and 19147.

"The affected areas in Philadelphia include parts of Bella Vista, Callowhill, Center City, Devil's Pocket, Fairmount, Grays Ferry, Logan Square, Mantua, Northern Liberties, Passyunk Square, Pennsport, Point Breeze, Poplar, Powelton Village, Rittenhouse Square, Society Hill, Southwark, Spring Garden, Spruce Hill, University City, Washington Square West, West Philadelphia and West Powelton," the site added.

"UPS users can track their shipments on UPS.com and sign up to be notified of changes or delays by email or text," Mashable said. "If you are in a UPS ZIP code where delivery will be stopped, it's still possible you could pick up your package from your local UPS pickup facility."

FedEx has released delivery details and areas affected by their service disruption during the Papal visit.
