Despite being widely known as one of Floyd Mayweather’s most loyal friends, Justin Bieber was denied entry into the ring to celebrate with the undefeated champion on Saturday, September 12, 2015.

TMZ featured a video of the Canadian singer arguing with a ringside security guard. Apparently, Bieber was trying to move up the ring post-fight to celebrate with his good pal. However, the security guard would not let him pass.

According to witnesses, Justin was already in the ring but police politely requested him to step out during the post-fight ceremonies. The video started as Bieber again attempted to get inside. The ringside guard remained firm and told the celebrity, “You wanna be escorted out in handcuffs, young man?”

Justin seemed to get the message clearly or might have been embarrassed to continue squaring off with the huge man. He walked away towards the other side of the ring as boxing fans teased him about getting rejected. In fairness, he did not force his way or asked the guard whether he recognized him or not. The guard might have known but did not care anyway, considering how there were other celebrities possibly watching the same fight that night.

Numerous times, Bieber has been seen showing full support for Mayweather in his fights. The Independent wrote that leading up to the mega-fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in May 2015, Bieber was tasked to walk with the former to the ring, as well as carry his belt. Justin was also spotted in various pre-fight events and post-fight parties, celebrating with Mayweather. Mayweather’s daughter reportedly wanted Bieber to stay with his dad before and after fights, which is also why Mayweather lets him in the ring for photos and interviews.

On September 12, Mayweather improved his undefeated record to 49-0 by winning against Andre Berto via unanimous decision. The fight was held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, but there were only over 13,000 people who watched. The fight was not a sellout compared to Mayweather’s several other bouts in the past, ESPN wrote. Reportedly, the match will be Mayweather’s final fight and he plans to retire afterwards.

Mayweather has not yet commented on Bieber’s denial into the ring on Saturday night. It is not yet known whether the ringside security guard would be penalized or commended for blocking the Canadian star.

More news and updates on Floyd Mayweather’s career are expected soon.
