Judging by the increasing volume of Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 rumors, it appears these handsets may be released very soon.

In fact, the latest buzz has it that Google may be unveiling the new Nexus smartphone models on September 29 already equipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, according to AppleInsider.

Nexus 5 is reportedly a 5.2-inch handset made by LG, while the Nexus 6 is bigger at 5.7 inches and will be manufactured by Huawei. Both have been anticipated to have fingerprint sensors and USB Type-C ports.

Meanwhile, Android Authority said that a source revealed that the upcoming Nexus models will indeed be "made available in the Google Store from September 29."

"The LG Nexus will probably go under the Nexus 5X moniker. We say probably because a decision on the final name has not been taken yet at Google HQ," the site explained. "That name makes a lot of sense: it allows Google to keep its "Nexus #" naming convention, while signaling that this is a new device in a much more intuitive fashion than by adding a '(2015)' or '(2nd gen.)' suffix."

Further, the LG-made unit will reportedly be available in black, white, and light blue colors and will be "affordable." However, its price point won't be as low as the first Nexus 5, according to the source.

"The Nexus 5X will cost $50 more than the Nexus 5, according to our source. That means we can expect a starting point of $399 for the 16GB model and $449 for the 32GB model, assuming Google has decided to stick with 16GB for the base version," the site added.

The upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) will be the third Nexus that LG has produced so far.

Meanwhile, the bigger Nexus 6 is said to be made by Huawei, would be the first Nexus made by the Chinese tech company. This collaboration with Google is said to be "critical" for the Chinese smartphone maker as this may be its vehicle to boosting its brand in Western markets, especially that in the US.

"Having Google partner with the company on a Nexus smartphone gives Huawei additional credibility in the Android community," CNET noted.

Google has not yet confirmed these reports, though.

The Nexus smartphone line is Google's "flagship" handsets and typically carries the latest Android OS version, which gives it an edge over other Android-powered devices.

"Over the years, hardcore fans have gravitated toward these flagship phones as the 'purest' Android experience, free of tweaks by carriers or handset makers," CNET said. "As a result, each manufacturer associated with a Nexus phone gets to enjoy a bit of extra buzz."
