Monsters wreaking havoc and causing destruction make a good movie. This is one of the things that Godzilla and Pacific Rim have in common. Another thing that bonds these movies is that they are both produced by Legendary Films. Although both failed to amaze American audiences, these movies were successful in the international scene. With rumors of "Godzilla" making an appearance in "Pacific Rim 3," this crossover would be a movie of massive proportions.

According to Movie Pilot, "Godzilla" director Gareth Edwards and "Pacific Rim" director Guillermo del Toro are gearing up to unleash monsters upon moviegoers. Fans were disappointed with the fact that everyone's favorite radioactive fire-breathing monster only appeared for about 11 minutes on the first movie. Lucky for fans, Edwards made a promise to show more of "Godzilla" on the sequel.

Edwards said, "I'm writing it now, and it's really going to be great. I don't want to go off book and tell you anything that I'm not allowed to tell you. The response to the first film was really exciting, but now that that world is established, we can do bigger and even better things. We're really stoked."

Other than the fact that a sequel will soon hit the cinemas, "Godzilla" will not go on a rampage alone. The teaser shown during the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 revealed that the movie will feature the infamous monster island from the 1968 Japanese Godzilla Film. It will also feature Mothra and Ghidora.

Continued from Movie Pilot, "Pacific Rim" will dive deeper into the world of the Kaiju. In the second installment, fans will learn more about the mission of the aliens that send monsters to exterminate mankind. Further on, the report stated that there will be much more to learn about the enemy's technology.

Del Toro said, "There was this portal that ripped a hole into the fabric of our universe. What were the tools they were using? And we came up with a really, really interesting idea."

The rumors could actually turn into fruition, but there are still some who are skeptical about the information. According to Cinema Blend, just because both films are from the same studio doesn't mean that there will be a crossover. Despite the fact, the report strongly holds some doubts, but with a dash of hope on the side.

Whether a crossover is possible or not, only time will tell. "Pacific Rim 2" or "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom" will be on theaters August 4, 2017. "Godzilla 2" is scheduled to rampage in cinemas June 8, 2018.
