Nearly 2 months after "Dragon Ball Super" started airing on Japan's Fuji TV, the show is close to racking up a dozen of episodes since its debut. Each one has, so far, been awaited with much anticipation, which means the series is not immune to episode spoilers.

Recently, it's been said by Attack of the Fanboy that episode 8 was "the least eventful episode of the season so far."

"'Dragon Ball Super' episode 8 opened with Vegeta powering up to Super Saiyan and attacking Beerus," Youth Health said. "The Saiyan Prince's anger was provoked when the God of Destruction slapped Bulma when she stood up to him."

If you don't want to dip your fingers into spoilers and significant clues about episode 8, you should stop reading now. Otherwise, go on.

"Despite a valiant effort, Vegeta is not strong enough to leave a scratch on Beerus," Attack of the Fanboy recounted. "Beerus then easily flicks Vegeta away. He's a bit annoyed that the 'Super Saiyan God' from his visions never appeared and threatens to explode the Earth."

This scene somehow harks back to a similar one in "Battle of the Gods."

"The rock, paper and scissors match is dragged on for a long time. Beerus does not beat Oolong in the first round. Both characters keep drawing scissors and they had to try again," the site said.

Looks like the show's creator is running out of ideas. It turns out that Goku did not appear in the episode and his fight scenes will allegedly happen in the next episode. The previous one, episode 7, showed the God of Destruction crashing Bulma's birthday party and defeating the Z fighters.

Indeed, as shown by the episode 9 trailer, it looks like Goku will be "transforming into Super Saiyan God following his training on the Kai planet," according to International Business Times.

If indeed the anticipated transformation happens in episode 9, AOTFB would be right to say that the eighth show in the series was a ho-hum one. Do you agree?

It can be recalled that the first episode of "Dragon Ball Super," the "first new Dragon Ball TV anime series in 18 years," was one that had elements of the last two DBZ movies. As such, Beerus is a significant figure in the series.

"It will be interesting to see how his role in the story resolves compared to the original movies in the coming months," Forbes' Ollie Barder noted.

"Set for a run of around 100 episodes, Dragon Ball Super is also being accompanied by a new manga series that is also being supervised by (Akira)Toriyama," he went on to say.
