After being mysteriously absent from the last E3 event, video game developer Atlus is reportedly rolling out its long-awaited role-playing game "Persona 5" this month in a scheduled press conference of the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Association (SCEJA).

According to Master Herald, the press conference is scheduled for September 15. However, gamers remain skeptical of the news as the rumored release has only been hinted at by PR representatives of Atlus during interviews.

One such representative who stated "Persona 5's" release date is Jon Hardin of Atlus USA. Game Revolution reports that Hardin has said that Atlus is working hard to get the game shipped to the US and EU within 2015. Hardin went on to say that Atlus is fully aware of the debacle that occurred in previous games such as "Shin Megami Tensei IV" and "Devil Survivor Overclocked" in which the games were already slated for release only for the dates to be pushed further back.

If the US and EU versions of the "Persona 5" are promised within 2015, this would normally mean that the Japanese version of the game would be released a few months before. Experts believe that Atlus would most likely want to have the game out before the Christmas season starts, so having Atlus make a statement about the Japanese release this month is not something that is completely out there.

According to the Atlus website, players will take control of a High School student who has just moved to the area with his parents. All seems well but little do his parents know that at night, the hero turns into a masked alter ego. Apparently, there is a group of teenagers in the area who all have a masked alter ego, calling it their "phantom thief" side. The story will revolve on the reason the characters of the game are doing what they are doing, as well as what is bubbling just below the surface.

Players will meet other high school students who also have strange gifts and personas, and it is up to the gamer how the main character interacts with these other characters. As with previous versions of the games, how the main character decides to interact with the team will likely affect how the game progresses storywise.

"Persona 5" is directed by franchise veteran Katsura Hashino and promises to bring a lot of new challenges to players that no other game in the series has done before. Once again, the games will only be Playstation exclusive, with ports being done for both the PS3 and PS4.
