After months of waiting, users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in Europe will finally have the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop rolled out on their units.

A few months ago, Sam Mobile wrote that Samsung was testing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 4. The update was released by Samsung via a soak test for the Russian variant, with the codename SM-N910C. Subsequently, the OS rolled out in Poland and through US carrier Sprint. The Android Lollipop will finally make its way to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 models in Europe. The update for the European version was released late in August 2015, but was only available via OTA in Italy, Sweden Austria. Currently, the firmware is already available for download through KIES.

The build version of the update is N910FXXU1COH4, which is expected to boost the performance of the Note 4. It should also stabilize the software by making small tweaks and fixes. Users can expect a notification on their devices soon to start the download and update. OTA updates should appear in more European countries in the following days.

The Android 5.1.1 Sprint Galaxy Note 4 update (N910PVPU4COG5) was rolled out OTA on August 3, 2015. The update will address various Android Lollipop issues that caused problems in a number of devices. The update will also provide the Stagefright fix to the Sprint Note 4. There will be new and enhanced features that will arrive with the performance upgrades. The Android 5.1.1 is a huge file so users should be connected to Wi-Fi and their device should be charged to at least 50 percent before starting the download to avoid interruptions. To check for availability of the update, go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update, Android Pit wrote.
