A new Nexus 6 tablet model is set for release in September 2015. The so-called phablet will reportedly have a unique design that will make it stand out from its predecessors.
Android Origin reported that the Nexus 6 (2015) will be manufactured by Huawei. The design looks very much like a stethoscope instead of a phone. Users speculate that the strange shape might be necessary to house a number of great specifications, although nothing is confirmed yet. There is a round notch at the back of the device for the fingerprint scanning technology. There is a large horizontal camera portion that is easily recognizable. The way that the section stands out might be a way to keep the back of the unit from touching the surface when laid down. Others believe that Google might have intended for a thinner device, except that the camera needed more space.
Google followed a pattern of releasing its devices in September 2015, and Android M is also expected to become available in the same month. Nexus devices will be the first to acquire the new update, so it is likely that the Nexus 6 (2015) will run on the new Android Marshmallow out of the box when it launches.
Tech Radar wrote that the Nexus 6 (2015) is expected to launch on September 29, 2015. The device is rumored to have a 5.7-inch display and cost around $600. There is also the possibility that the new device will have an all-metal construction and cost about $650, which is the same as the one made by Motorola in 2014. The upcoming model will most likely have a premium design. It is said to measure 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6 x 8.5mm curved. It may also feature speakers on the front, USB Type-C support and the fingerprint sensor at the back.
Tech Radar also wrote that the 5.7-inch screen will have the same resolution as the 2014 model at 2560 x 1440 pixels. However, the smaller display size compared to the 6-inch version would mean better resolution. The screen will feature WQHD AMOLED which is consistent with the 2014 model. As for the specifications, the Nexus 6 (2015) by Huawei is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM or 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal memory, with a microSD slot. The phablet may have a 21-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX230 sensor, based on a report by EVLeaks. The device is also rumored to have a huge 3,500mAh battery.
