"Hey Siri, give us a hint" reads Apple's one-line tease towards a big September announcement.

Siri, however, is playing coy with the whole thing.

The virtual assistant is telling users to "check a rumor blog" and "look deep within yourself" for answer about the impending event, which many believe will showcase new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus models.

Apply typically showcases new products in early fall, much like they did last Sept. 9 in unveiling large-screen version of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Interestingly enough, the live broadcast is going to be available to Windows 10 users utilizing the Edge browser; Edge is the first desktop browser outside of Safari to fully support streaming technology Apple uses.

Little is known about what new devices may be on the way, or if older models will get an upgrade. One rumor making the rounds is that new displays will incorporate Force Touch, technology already implemented in MacBooks and Apple Watches.

Others wonder if Apple plans on installing "Motion" faces onto iPhone 6 models like they did with Watches. Choices of animated wallpapers are said to include vibrant flowers, multi-colored butterflies, and jellyfish; another rumored screen involves koi fish swimming through smoke and around a pond, according to Engadget.

It may seem like the Cupertino-based company is playing catch-up with Android products, and in some ways, they are. According to 9to5mac.com's Mark Gurman, new iPhones will carry 12-megapixel cameras, 4k video recording support, and a flash option for selfies. Sony, LG, and Samsung have installed 16-megapixel cameras into their products for years, and support for 4k videos is a commonplace for Android smartphones.

Anything can happen at an Apple event, even the unveiling of a long-awaited iPad update. Ever since Apple announced iOS 9 operating system last June, speculation ran abound over what a bigger tablet could do, whether it come by utilizing the SplitView feature or simply giving users more screen space to swipe through.

Either way, the public won't find out until Apple takes over San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium next month. The only hint Siri is willing to give in the meantime is "a hint of lime."
