After undefeated MMA fighter Ronda Rousey reportedly did the math, she figured she actually earned more per second than undefeated pugilist Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Jr.

Sounds like the verbal back and forths between the champion fighters aren't ending anytime soon.

When Rousey stepped into an ambush interview with TMZ, the conversation turned to the boxer, who had previously said he didn't know who the younger fighter was and later dismissed talk of a Rousey-Mayweather match as he thought he deserved to face a contender who could bring in the big bucks like him.

These comments apparently did not escape the 28-year-old's attention.

"I don't know if you saw the Floyd thing, where he said, 'When you make $300 million in a night, give me a call,'" she reminded TMZ. "I actually did the math and given the numbers in my last fight, I'm actually the highest-paid UFC fighter, and I'm a woman."

"And I think I actually make two to three times more than he does per second. So when he learns to read and write, he can text me then," she went on to say.

When the TMZ correspondent asked if she meant she made more money than "Money" himself, she replied with this: "Yeah, I'm just more efficient."

Mayweather was previously noted as saying that he had yet "to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes," according to Time. That figure was based on his total earnings from his fight with Manny Pacquiao in May this year.

However, based on Rousey's projected earnings from her last match, which was against Bethe Correia on August 1 in Brazil, it appears she did earn more than Mayweather did per second.

"Dividing $300 million by the 36 minutes Mayweather was in the ring with Pacquiao works out to $8,333,333.33 per minute. Dividing that by 60 comes to $138.888.89 per second," Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole computed, noting that he had previously estimated the UFC champ made about $5 million from the Correia match.

"So since Rousey said she makes two to three times more per second than Mayweather, multiplying $138.888.89 times two is $277,777.78. Multiplying it by three comes out to $416,666.667 per second for Rousey," he went on.

"So, if you multiply those figures by 34 - the length of time of the Rousey-Correia match - Rousey is suggesting that she made at least $9,444,444.52 (at $277,777.78 dollars per second times 34 seconds) and as much as $14,166,666.68 (at $416,666.667 dollars per second times 34 seconds)."

"Rousey's disclosed purse from Aug. 1 was $190,000. She made $70,000 to show, $70,000 to win and earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus," he recalled. "But as a champion, she also earned a percentage of the pay-per-view sales. The show did in excess of 1 million buys, though the UFC did not release the exact figure."

Meanwhile, Fortune's Valentina Zarya said that Iole's earnings estimates "make sense" given the approximate PPV viewership for the said match, which was the highest-selling PPV so far this year.

Even with just a $5 million income for the 34-second fight, it appears Rousey earned $147,058.82 per second, which is apparently more than Mayweather's $138.888.89-per-second bout with Pacquiao. Considering this, the arm bar queen appeared to be right in her boast.
