Amanda Nunes name has suddenly come out of the mix of UFC female fighters lately though not as a headliner.

Rather, Nunes came about as an alternative to face Miesha Tate at UFC 195 though official confirmation for such has yet to be made.

Tate finds herself possibly facing Nunes instead after being booted out after originally being groomed as UFC women’s champion Ronda Rousey’s next opponent. And as everyone knows now that it will be Holly Holm rather than Tate for her next match in 2016.

Holm, a former boxer turned mixed martial artist, is undefeated and is believed by some critics to have the best shot (for now) to hand Rousey her first UFC career defeat. That remains to be seen however considering no one has so far lasted more than one round against the women’s champ.

The acclaimed best striker in the UFC today was also caught by surprise at her selection though he believes that the tiff goes beyond finding a suitable opponent for Rousey. Being the best striker there is right now, their scheduled showdown could be used more or less a gauge to see how the new moves of Rousey will pan out.

This of course has something to do with her standing KO move, a new repertoire under Rousey’s vest outside his famous arm bar hold that has been key to most of her fights prior to her last triumph over Bethe Correia. Correia lost when Rousey unleashed a flurry of punches that eventually found its mark and knocked out the PitBull.

As far as Nunes is concerned, she is confident that she can beat Tate if ever their match would be made official. Nunes is coming off a rousing win over Sara McMann at UFC Fight Night 73 last August 8, someone she believes is a lot tougher than Tate.

Assuming she does get over Tate, Nunes isn’t shy to set her sights at Rousey herself. She currently totes a 4-1 record but the glaring thing about it is perhaps that all her victories were made inside the first round. Does the feat ring a bell?

As far as the upcoming fight between Rousey and Holm, she believes that the outcome will still be the same. Rousey will come out as the victor though she adds that it could last more than the first round.

Before thinking of Rousey, Nunes will have to win over Tate and see if Rousey will continue to roll against an unpredictable Holm. If both scenarios suffice, she could be lined up to face the UFC champ next.
