The Sinclair ZX Spectrum VEGA will soon be available, and if you're one of the many who wishes to turn back time using a game console as retro as this, pre-ordering can now be made online. According to Daily Star, the newly refurbished gaming console contains 1,000 games when it finally hits the market. Chris Smith, developer of ZX Spectrum, said that the console will allow users to play almost any ZX Spectrum games available through its MicroSD card. Retro Computers produced the first 4,000 units which are currently lined up for production.

The production of the said retro gaming console is through the initiative of a crowd funding campaign, which immediately raised money in just a matter of 36 hours. Out of the two month grace period, production has been propelled earlier than expected. According to David Levy of Retro Computers, the hype of the gaming console in the '80s has immensely influenced the campaign. The famed retro ZX Spectrum picked up its popularity in Britain during the '90s, and, now, it is back with even more games to offer. The said 1,000 retro games can be accessed through TV plugins without the complicated setup of the new generation consoles such as the XBox and Play Station.

The business of retro consoles, according to Phys.org, has been highly regarded online because of its timeless value. In fact, online sellers have become more adamant on adding prices to their original rate, causing fanatics to get a hand of these consoles when able.

The ZX Spectrum, while it is valued around €99.99 at Funstock, it won't be long before it heads out online with a price double the said figure. Fans who wish to see the pixelized games, which are well-known during the '80s and '90s, will have so much fun acquiring this type of gaming console.

As cited by Phys.org, online gaming hubs that sell these retro consoles can charge two to three times the normal retail price just like the Nintendo Entertainment System that immensely soared to $300 from its original price of $48. The reason behind these prices is the fact that retro consoles, such as the ZX Spectrum, are not mass produced like the Xbox and the PlayStation gaming consoles. Thousands can have it, but its limited number of units can only be distributed to fanatics, who truly search high and low just to obtain these retro gaming consoles.
