An artist came up with a way to make peanuts more attractive by painting on these. He has created over 200 art pieces using peanut shells in the past three years.

Steve Casino “Painter of Peanuts” stated that on Bored Panda that he has created about 223 pieces of art from peanut shells in the past few years. He shared that the turning point was when MTV requested him to make 12 peanut characters from the George R.R. Martin novel “Game of Thrones” as a way to promote Season 5. He started painting humans on the nuts, but eventually moved on to painting animals, monsters and inanimate objects. Most of his work can be found on his website, SteveCasino.com.

Some of his outstanding pieces include “Nuts-feratu”, his own version of Dracula popping out of a peanut with big bold eyes. He also made a “Peanut Weiner Dog”, which appeared to be a hybrid between a dachshund and a peanut, a “Peanut Chicago-Style Hot Dog” and a self-portrait of himself.

As for his “Game of Thrones” characters, images were shown on Bored Panda, with all the characters arranged together, namely Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Margaery Tyrell, Jaime Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Samwell Tarly, Petyr Baelish, Theon Greyjoy and Stannis Baratheon.

Casino also came up with other interesting pieces such as a “Infestation”, “Alien Baby”, “Brain Food” and ‘Krylon Can”. His notable works usually feature superheroes and celebrities, such as Iron Man, The Beatles, Kiss, Nirvana, Taylor Swift, Michael Jordan, Albert Einstein, Jack Sparrow, Garfield, The Incredible Hulk, Clint Eastwood, Star Trek characters and Trent Reznor, among many others.

On the official website, Casino explained that he follows a four-step process to guarantee that his artworks last a lifetime. He first removes the nuts from the shell. The shells are sealed using archival urethane and then glued back together. Next, the artwork is made and painted. When everything is finished, he coats the piece in clear acrylic. Painting one piece can take anywhere from a few hours up to 20 hours. The final product is sealed inside a glass dome. Casino stated that the pieces he made are for sale, but are not cheap. He added that he also does commissions of family, friends, wedding toppers and world icons. Casino featured some of the works he made of people who ordered from him.
