Slowly but surely, leaks of the latest installment of the highly anticipated upgrade to the iPhone are hitting the Internet. Most recently, two video clips of Apple's new mobile version are circling, further confirming various features for the upcoming model.
MacManiak, known as an established reseller of Apple products, is seen stripping two iPhones down -- one of which is the rumored iPhone 6S and the other, the first iPhone 6, in the video that examines the display panel and rear panels, respectively. The mobile phones are opened up for a direct comparison.
The footage reveals the iPhone 6 and 6S are expected to have the same size frame and display panel, however iPhone 6S will be slightly larger than the iPhone 6 with a thicker body, built with Series 7000 aluminum alloy.
The camera and proximity sensors appear to be in the exact spots. The Home button and Touch ID sensor will be fused together on the LCD button, as reported by International Business Times.
The short clips also proves the new phone will in fact receive Force Touch technology. The 6S and 6S Plus are expected to feature two lex connectors, one horizontal and one vertical in the top left of the phone, and allow for Force Touch technology, like that of the Apple Watch.
However, Force Touch technology on the iPhone will bypass the launch of existing options and lists, and rather be used as a system to "shortcut actions," according to 9to5Mac.
The publication provided the example of using Force Touch to access navigation and maps: "A user can look up a point of interest in the Maps application, and then Force Touch on the destination to immediately begin turn-by-turn directions. Currently, if a user wants to start navigating to a destination, she must search for the point of interest, click the navigation logo on the map view, then click another button to actually start navigating. In this case, the Force Touch gesture will skip two steps."
In addition, the second video, released by Unbox Therapy, reveals Apple is taking strides to build a stronger phone and have actually strengthened the rear panel.
Forbes speculated the videos are true, with "Wall Street Journal claiming Apple plans to stockpile a mind blowing 85-90 million: "iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus units ahead of launch and that launch just one month away, I would argue mass production would have now reached a scale where it is virtually impossible to keep every link in the chain under lock and key."
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are expected to launch in September.
