In the first of this week's midweek Liga MX action, we take a look at Tuesday's fixtures as the league begins to take shape and some interesting storylines begin to play out.

Santos look to avoid their fourth straight defeat at Queretaro, America look to kick start their season, while Monterrey enter their new stadium Tuesday night - all part of Liga MX's usual brand of action, drama and of course goals.

Tuesday, August 11th Matches:

America vs Dorados de Sinaloa, Estadio Azteca, 21:30

America coach Ignacio Ambriz will have enjoyed his first win in charge of Azulcrema over Pachuca at the weekend and will hope his side can turn the win into a full resurgence after their poor start to season.

The return to form of Oribe Peralta, whose two goals on Saturday could kick start America's season, with Santos, Cruz Azul and Tigres all struggling so far it could be a good chance for Ambriz's side to impose themselves starting at home on Tuesday night.

For Dorados, however, the opening games of the season are proving to be highly profitable as Los Sinaloa remain one of the few teams to be undefeated this season. Their defensive showing this season will give them confidence to go to the Estadio Azteca and take away precious points to stave off relegation.

Querétaro vs Santos Laguna,Estadio La Corregidora, 21:30

In a rematch of last season's Clausura final, Queretaro will hope to punish a dwindling Santos Laguna team and take revenge for their defeat back in May.

Queretaro's indifferent start to the season so far has seen them lack some of the cutting edge style they showed last season but Sunday's draw at Dorados shows the spirit of Victor Vucetich's side.

The misfortunes of Santos have been one of the most interesting storylines of the season so far and, after their loss to Tijuana at home last weekend, Los Guerreros sit bottom of the league.

Having lost in their last visit to the Corregidora 3-0, Santos will be very wary of their opponents and will likely be defensive in order to best avoid defeat.

The precious moment that Monterrey fans have been waiting for, their team walking out in their new stadium.

Los Rayados will want to christen their new home with a win and after securing their first win of the Apertura last weekend they will know that another three points could be the injection their season needs to really take off.

Meanwhile Pachuca will be looking to spoil the party and rebound from their 3-0 defeat to America at the weekend and take something away from Monterrey.

Tijuana vs Veracruz, Estadio Caliente, 23:00

Veracruz travel to Tijuana looking for their first win as an away side at the Estadio Caliente and have been making statements about how the artificial surface in Tijuana will not upset their game.

Fresh from their victory over Chiapas at the weekend, the Sharks will want to continue their winning run if they are to challenge for higher post-season places.

Tijuana will have other ideas in front of their own fans as they look to continue their good run against Veracruz, a side they have only lost once to in their last four meetings.

Having defeated the reigning champions Santos Laguna last weekend Los Xolos will have ideas of challenging for post-season places themselves and this match could be one of the most attacking of the season so far.
