Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will return for "23 Jump Street."

Over a year ago, "22 Jump Street" ended in a hilarious way by showing totally fake sequels to the movie. The fake sequels featured Medical School, Foreign Exchange Students, Flight School, Beauty School, Art School, Culinary School and just about anything that requires an individual to be in an educational institution. There was a skit where Seth Rogan filled in for Jonah Hill's character. The ending gave fans a sense of closure in the funniest way possible and concluded that with the fake sequels, another Jump Street movie will be irrelevant.

According to Den of Geek's long list of sequels coming soon, Sony is working on "23 Jump Street" with Rodney Rothman writing the script just as he did for the second movie. Tatum and Hill are expected to be back on set as Schmidt and Jenko.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller will not direct "23 Jump Street" but only produce it, according to Indie Wire. The dynamic duo have a very busy schedule on hand, producing an animated "Spider-Man" movie scheduled for 2018. Lord and Miller are also producers of the "LEGO Movie" sequel set to release May of 2018. Their biggest project on hand will be the young Han Solo "Star Wars" anthology film which they will direct, turning down DC's "The Flash" movie.

This is not something that fans should be surprised about. Ever since "The LEGO Movie," the duo became the most sought after talents in Tinseltown. According to an exclusive report from Slash Film, Lord and Miller said, "We are hard at work on 23 Jump Street, which I think we will probably just produce from a time standpoint. But we've been working really hard. We've got a really good first draft of a script in and we're really excited about it."

Lord added, "We've found a way that we love that makes those imagined sequels canonical and yet does something that we haven't told you about yet. The sequels are canon."

Continued from the exclusive, Lord also divulged the possible plot of the sequel. He shared, "Rodney Rothman had a really outrageous idea for what to do, and how we could take our scorched-earth sequel policy from the end of 22 Jump Street and do something that hadn't been explored in those 22 sequels and simultaneously tell the next chapter in the story."

With this news, fans speculated that the mock sequels from the ending credits of "22 Jump Street" could be a plot for the next movie. There were many to mention and Sony has given little to no information about "23 Jump Street" so far. Possible story plot ranges from Medical School to Jump Street in Space. Keep posted for more information to come.
