After introducing the Honor 7 smartphone, Huawei is rumored to be preparing the launch of its next Honor model. Reportedly, the new handset will be equipped with a sliding camera, which will distinguish it from others in the same series.

GSM Arena reported that new images surfaced after the Honor phone acquired TENAA certification. The pictures showed that the two cameras of the new Honor phone will be positioned together on the same sliding module. This means that users can take photos using the rear camera anytime. As for the selfie shooter, users will most likely need to slide the assembly upwards. The mechanism has been made easier by a dedicated button provided by Huawei on the left side of the smartphone. The button will instantly trigger the camera assembly to slide up with ease.

The innovation might seem unique to some, but it does improve the aesthetics of the new Huawei Honor. The bezel above the screen looks smaller compared to its predecessors. It is also great to have a dual-tone dual-LED flash for both the front and rear cameras.

Currently, the upcoming smartphone is called the Huawei ATH-AL00, but users should expect it to get a new name upon its launch date. Phone Arena reported that the large button to unlock the camera may also double as a fingerprint scanner. The device is expected to have a Kirin chipset and 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The Huawei ATH-AL00 will most likely have dual-SIM functionality, at least 16GB of internal memory. Not a lot of details regarding the device have been released yet. The official launch date is also unconfirmed, so Huawei fans will have to wait for an official announcement from the company in a few weeks.

Android Central revealed that the Honor sub-brand was released by the company in 2014, which intended to offer unlocked devices via an online-only business model which will minimize overhead costs. On August 3, 2015, Huawei announced that the Honor brand had 20 million shipments during the first half of 2015, raking in $2.63 billion revenue. The Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4X have been very successful in terms of sales. Huawei indicated that it will continue to appeal to the European market, where the Honor 7 is set to launch later in August 2015. Honor is currently planning to reach 40 million shipments by the end of the year.

More news and details about the Huawei ATH-AL00 are expected soon.
