After Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj is the next celebrity to have her own mobile game. Glu Mobile is reportedly in the development stage of the new game.

Glu Mobile announced on August 4, 2015 that it will partner with the hip-hop star to come up with a mobile game. Glu also announced that it will also be making a mobile game for action star Jason Statham, making him the first male celebrity to have his own celebrity game.

Glu is based in San Francisco and made the announcement after its second-quarter earnings were revealed. Glu reported raking in $57.5 million in non-GAAP revenue, which signified a rise of 64 percent compared to a year ago and much better than the its previous guidance. The second quarter non-GAAP earnings was $1.7 million before income tax, amortization and depreciation, which is also over the guidance.

New York Post reported that Glu also warned that sales in the second half of 2015 could miss Wall Street forecasts as it prepares to release new game titles. Glue shares went up during the spring of 2015 when it received a huge investment from Tencent, a Chinese app company. However, in the regular session, Glu shares went down by as much as 11 percent.

Glu Mobile has particularly been eyeing on celebrities with a huge social media following to take a big portion out of the $30 million mobile game market. Currently, Minaj commands over 100 million followers in social media networks. Glu will collaborate with the “Anaconda” singer to create a new mobile game featuring her likeness and voice.

“I am thrilled to welcome the undisputed queen of hip-hop, Nicki Minaj, to Glu’s growing list of celebrity partners. Nicki brings to Glu her audience of over 100 million* social followers and a new music category. We look forward to combining Nicki’s distinctive style and massive global appeal with Glu’s celebrity social gaming expertise,” stated Niccolo de Masi, Glu chairman and CEO.

Glu shared that its list of signed celebrities have social media followers totaling over 646 million. It will be a big help, considering how the celebrities can tweet and advertise Glu games and reach millions of people without spending much.

Glu had much success with the mobile game “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood”, taking into account the model’s 102 million Twitter followers. Minaj is expected to make the same impact when her game arrives.
