There are rumors that “Mighty No. 9” will be delayed. The game was supposed to launch on September 15, 2015.

Game Rant stated that “Mighty No. 9” is a successor of “Megaman” and started as a Kickstarter project to raise funds to make the actual game. The campaign was a success, raking in over $900,000 in two days.

During the Kickstarter campaign, “Mighty No. 9” was announced to be delivered in April 2015. The game was supposed to be playable on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii U, PC, 3DS, Mac and Linux.

Game Informer reported that more information was acquired regarding the silent delay of the title, stating that it will miss its release on September 15, 2015. There is no new release date at the moment, although the latest information confirmed on the retailer listings that it will be available in 2016 instead.

Generally, the publisher provides notifications for such delays. Placeholder dates are also presented when a game is listed for the first time or delayed. Such shows that the 2016 placeholder was given by Deep Silver and Comcept. Deep Silver did not comment on the issue, while Comcept did not provide a statement. Game Informer also wrote that Comcept may not confirm the delay of “Mighty No. 9” at the moment, to avoid any negative effect on the Red Ash Kickstarter that it is running.

Game Rant also wrote that the recent delay of “Mighty No. 9” might further present the timeline issue that comes with crowdfunding to make games. Deadlines are not met in most cases or projects may be cancelled completely. Kickstarter and other crowdfunding approaches are ideal in acquiring the necessary funds to make video games. However, only one-third of Kickstarter campaigns with full funds actually come up with a finished title. The same applies to the delay of “Mighty No. 9” since people who helped fund the project will not be seeing the game in 2015 as originally expected.

Now, gamers have to deal with the game releasing sometime in 2016 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U. Digital-only releases are set for the PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation3 and Xbox 360.

However, recent updates from the administrators on Might forums stated that the title is still set to launch on September 15, 2015. VG Stations reported that the mistake was due to a glitch with the automatism in the software on Amazon, which also explains why the error mostly appeared on the online shopping site.
