The 2015/16 Premier League season returns this week with its biggest teams leading the pick of action from 'The world´s  best league'.

Champions Chelsea will be looking to retain their Premier League crown from last season, but with the transfer activity of their rivals, Chelsea will be facing new invigorated challengers and the task of winning the league could be harder than ever.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur, Old Trafford, Saturday, August 8th, 0700 TV Links - NBCSN

The Premier League kicks off with giants Manchester United fresh from their impressive pre-season hosting Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

United will be boosted by the new signings of Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay as well as World Cup winning Bastian Schweinsteiger, who could all feature in the Red Devil´s first match.

Having achieved his goal of reaching the Champions League last season, United boss Louis Van Gaal will look to seriously challenge for the Premier League title this season and will target their opening home match as a key opportunity to take their first three points of the season.

Tottenham will be no pushover, however, having reinforced their squad in the summer also and with Harry Kane up front Mauricio Pochettino´s side will pose a serious threat to the top four this season.

Chelsea vs Swansea City, Stamford Bridge, Saturday, August 8th, 12:30. TV Links - NBC

All eyes will turn to Chelsea on Saturday evening as the Champions look to get their campaign off to a good start against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho´s side have been inconsistent during the pre-season, but will know that the match against Swansea will be where the serious business begins.

Having not made too many signings this summer Chelsea will be looking to continue their dominating form from last season and will target their home advantage to boost their consistency starting with Saturday´s game against the Swans.

Arsenal vs West Ham United, Emirates Stadium, Sunday, August 9th, 8:30. TV Links - NBCSN

Sunday will see last season's FA Cup winners Arsenal host West Ham as they look to finally establish themselves as serious title contenders this season.

Arsene Winger's side have been boosted by the acquisition of former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, who could be the man to help Arsenal to secure their first title since 2004.

Arsenal fans will know that it was points dropped at home to sides like West Ham that has been their undoing in previous years and will hope that the Gunners avoid a similar mishap in their opening fixture this season.

West Ham, though, buoyed by new manager Slaven Bilic have been on the offensive in the transfer market this summer and having signed the extremely talented Dimitri Payet, will certainly be a very different proposition to the side that finished 12th last season.

Stoke City vs Liverpool, Brittania Stadium, Sunday August 9th, 11:00. TV LInks - NBCSN

Liverpool
 have been very active this summer and despite losing talisman Raheem Sterling will be hoping that Brazilian Roberto Firminho and Belgian Christian Benteke will power the Reds to a title charge this season.

Having lost captain and club hero Steven Gerrard as well as Sterling this summer, it will interesting to see how the signings at Anfield fit into their new team.

Their task in their opening match couldn't be more difficult, with an away trip to Stoke City, where they lost 6-1 on the final day of last season.

Stoke have continued their upward momentum under Mark Hughes' leadership this summer and equipped with new former Barcelona attacker Ibrahim Affelay and Spaniard Joselu the Potters will hope to once again punish Liverpool at the Britannia stadium.

West Bromwhich Albion vs Manchester City, Hawthorns Stadium, Monday, August 10th, 15:00. TV Links - NBC SN

Manchester City
 may shave been linked to almost every player on earth this summer, but having only spent wisely the Manchester club will be certain of challenging again for the Premier League title again this season.

Starting with a tricky away fixture at West Bromwich Albion, City will have to show their togetherness, but with a star-studied attack force featuring new signing Raheem Sterling alongside the prolific Sergio Aguero, the Etihad side should have enough quality to get their season started with a win.
