While the "Power Rangers" reboot movie remains to have no official cast, a controversial tweet recently posted by "The Hunger Games" movies "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" Part 1 & Part 2 actor Sam Claflin sparked rumors that he might be joining the highly-anticipated remake.

Cinema Blend is convinced that Claflin's tweet could have just been a post to convey strong feelings towards the hit '90's television show. "Power Rangers" fans most likely mistook the tweet as Claflin's strong intention of joining the defenders of planet Earth.

In case you're wondering what this tweet is, well, the actor posted: "Go Go Power Rangers."

The tweet, reportedly, wasn't accompanied by further information, which caused his fans and fans of the hit show to wonder what it actually meant.

Some netizens mistook the tweet as confirmation that Clafin secured a role in the upcoming reboot. However, Comicbook.com has learned from the actor's team that he, as a matter of fact, is "not a candidate." The outlet managed to save a screenshot of Claflin's tweet, which apparently, has already been removed from the actor's account.

The "Power Rangers" has been on the air for over 25 seasons, and several of its cast members have gone to take on greater roles. As reported by Zap2it, Archie Kao, who played the Blue Ranger during the "Lost Galaxy" season, is now playing Sheldon Jin on the hit TV show "Chicago PD." Fellow ranger alumni Eka Darville, the Red Ranger during "Power Rangers RPM," has gone to play Diego on "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals."

Regardless of Sam's chances of securing a role as a Power Ranger, there is no doubt that he is an actor with well-honed skills and an exceptional repertoire. According to Cinema blend, he started acting with few British television shows. He starred as Phillip Swift on the $1.046 billion grossing "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." His role on the pirate movie catapulted his career, landing him a role on the movie "Snow White and the Huntsman." Most recently, he plays Finnick Odair on "The Hunger Games" franchise.

Keep posted for more news about the movie's cast, setting and plot details. "Power Rangers" reboot movie is slated for release on January 13, 2017.
