The Foo Fighters clearly has a huge following in Italy.

1,000 die-hard fans recently came together to try and woo the rock band to play in the Italian town of Cesena.

Fan Fabio Zaffagnini came up with the idea of bringing together a thousand Foo Fighters fans to play their song, “Learn to Fly” at the same time, with the hope of getting the band to play in their locality.

Zaffagnini described the special event “a miracle that will not be repeated ever again in the music history”.

The project took Zaffagnini an entire year to complete. His team raised $67,000 via a crowdfunding campaign to launch the “Rockin’ 1000” project.

The Rockin’ 1000 official website stated that the Foo Fighters have not returned to Romania since 1997.

Fans have to come up with a crazy idea to convince Dave Grohl and his band to come and play for them again. They invited one thousand rockers to play one of their songs at the same time.

Hopefully, the band will find their project good enough to come to Cesena.

ABC reported that 1,000 people, consisting of singers, guitarists, drummers and bassists gathered to play the 1999 hit. A video of the huge crowd playing was recorded, to be presented to the Foo Fighters.

At the end of the clip, Zaffagnini made a request to the band.

“I guess this video is going to be seen by a huge amount of people all over the world, but to be true it’s been conceived to be addressed just to five people,” he said in a report by Sydney Morning Herald.

“So to Chris, Pat, Nate, Taylor and Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters. Italy is a country where dreams cannot easily come true but it’s a land of passion and creativity, so what we did here is just a huge, huge miracle,” the project head said.

“One thousand rockers that came from all over the nation at their own expenses and they just did for one song: Your song,” Zaffagnini added.

The project was definitely a huge success, as the one thousand rockers made waves around the globe and ultimately reached the Foo Fighters, Spinreported.

The band has responded to the epic video via a tweet.

“Che bello, Cesena…” the band wrote.

Foo Fighters fans in Italy may be expecting an official announcement for the band to play in their town in a few weeks.
