With Marvel adding a second season to its hit series "Daredevil," the comic book giant seemingly wishes to bolster its Netflix lineup with more characters from the vast pool of superheroes and super villains.

One such team of characters rumored to get their own series is the disguised super villain group called the "Thunderbolts." According to The Real Stan Lee, rumors of this group getting their own show is Marvel's response to the "Suicide Squad" movie trailer. The similarity of the two groups, super villains supposedly doing acts for the greater good, makes the "Thunderbolts" a surprise candidate for a Netflix series.

Information comes from YouTube Channel The Hashtag Show, which claims receiving information from a reliable source. Reportedly, this "Thunderbolts" Netflix series is being fast-tracked by Marvel executives and could start production sometime in the next year or so.

There had been talks about doing something related to the Thunderbolts in the past. As told by Cinema Blend, "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn previously said he would be interested in doing a "Thunderbolts" movie. However, since Marvel already revealed the schedule for Phase 3, such film may now be unlikely.

The Thunderbolts are comprised of several super villains who disguised themselves as superheroes to gain the public's trust, in an attempt to take over the world. However, as the team began to do acts of justice, several members actually wanted to become superheroes to redeem themselves from their actions while they were villains.

The recent team of the Thunderbolts have become more like the Suicide Squad. Now, the members are made to do wet works for the United States government in order to expunge their criminal records.

Rumors of a "Thunderbolts" Netflix series started when two of its current members -- The Punisher and Elektra -- were confirmed for the second season of "Daredevil." Other members such as The Red Hulk, Crossbones and Mr. Hyde have appeared in one form or another on Marvel Movies and Marvel TV shows.

The likelihood of this series does look promising since Marvel already confirmed several other Netflix series in production. Characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist are reportedly going to get their own series. It is expected that a new Netflix series will be released about every six months after the second season of "Daredevil" airs.

Are you looking forward to see the Thunderbolts in the small screen?
