Motorola has just released the Moto X Style and comparisons have immediately been made between the new release and the flagship smartphone of mobile market competitor Samsung, as well as that of LG.

So, how does the Moto X Style, also known as Moto X Pure in the US market, fare among these competing handsets?

Price-wise, it appears Motorola's latest offering is a winner, considering its $399 price point - allegedly $200-300 less than the usual flagship gadget from Samsung or even Apple, according to Phone Arena.

However, it's been reported that Samsung may be changing Galaxy S6's prices due to disappointing sales, The Verge noted. This could mean the handset may soon have lower prices. Considering its successor is about to arrive, it appears the price adjustment is timely as well. But will the price adjustment make the S6 at par with the Style? We'll know that in a couple of weeks.

The Moto X Style also appears to win in the camera department, thanks to its 21-megapixel rear shooter, which is 5 megapixels more than the 16 MP shooter S6 and G4 have. However, its selfie camera is a mere 5 MP to the G4's 8 MP. S6 also has a 5 MP front-facing camera.

Although initial reviews of the Style say it's fast, S6 is apparently faster under the hood with its Exynos 7 Octa 7420 and 8-core processor. G4 and Style only have a 6-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chip. All three are on par with each other on the system memory, although built-in storage for the S6 can reach 128 GB. Style and G4 can only accommodate up to 64 GB and 32 GB respectively, although their battery capacity is heftier than that of the S6 (2550 mAh) at 3000 mAh.

The Moto X Style's display, at 5.7 inches, is bigger than the other two; the S6's screen is only 5.1 inches while the G4 only has 5.5. While resolution for all three handsets are the same at 1440x2560, the S6 has the highest ppi at 577, thanks to its Super AMOLED technology. Style has the lowest at 515, while the G4 registers 538 ppi.

Of the three, the S6 is naturally the lightest at 138 grams. Style, thanks to its considerable screen size, is the heaviest at 179 grams. The G4 weighs 155 grams.

Considering Moto X Style's price point and the fact that it will be made available off contract, it appears Motorola's latest creation makes a compelling option. Ultimately, the best choice depends on the priorities of the user.

Which among the three do you think is the best?
