Back in April, it was confirmed that "Arrested Development" will be back, albeit on Netflix. However, Collider recently said that the show is, well, in "arrested development" right now.

Previously, showrunner Brian Grazer said that there will be another 17 episodes on the series. But now, he's simply saying that "more [episodes] are coming for sure." No number has been mentioned this time.

"The creator Mitch Hurwitz is creating a writer's room right now," he told CNNMoney. "We're going to get everybody on board."

"He also talked about 'retrofitting' the number of episodes to what Hurwitz and the writers come up with for the season's arc," Collider noted. "Further, the production is in such early stages that there doesn't appear to be a deal yet between 20th Century Fox Television and Netflix (Netflix, notably, declined to comment on the status of the show)."

Does this mean that the show is in danger of going to limbo once more?

"Grazer previously indicated the plan is for 'Arrested Development' season five to start production by January or February 2016 (with the episodes coming around four months after that), but this might have been slightly premature too," ScreenRant observed. "'Arrested Development's' cast are all busy with other projects, and it will be quite the task to assemble them all for another outing."

"Plus, it looks as though there is not yet a deal in place between Netflix and Fox, with Netflix having declined to make any comment in the wake of Grazer's interview," the site added.

Despite all that, it appears the series will go on as promised, although the episode count is not clear. What's definite is that the showrunner is committed to delivering what fans have anticipated - another season of "Arrested Development." As CNNMoney noted, the creation of a writer's room is "certainly a big step forward."

Earlier this month, it appeared cast member Jessica Walter, who plays Lucille Bluth on the show, may have revealed an interesting clue about what to expect in the next season of the series.

"Now that Buster has been arrested for the murder of Liza Minnelli, we're very anxious to get this [season] started," she told TVLine.

"Season 4, if you'll recall, ended with Minnelli's character, Buster's on-again/off-again lover Lucille Austero, in a pool of blood - before her body disappeared," the site remembered.

While it isn't certain when the show will be back, it may be out about four months after filming continues on January 1 next year. Stay tuned!
