There are rumors that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will feature an auto-ejecting S Pen. New leaked images suggested that the company will present the new feature, as originally planned.

DDaily reported that new Note 5 case renderings provided by case manufacturer Ringke, seemed to show that the S Pen will pop up automatically. Based on the leaked photos, the S Pen appeared flushed with the surface, so it may be impossible to pull out the stylus in the same manner that users did on previous Note models. Samsung might have come up with a new mechanism to auto-eject the S Pen. However, others remained skeptical and believed that the new images were mere concepts.

Phone Arena cited that anonymous insiders from Korea confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will still feature a manually ejectable S Pen. Users will be able to take out the stylus by pressing down on it so it will pop out, similar to how the old Note models worked. Android Authority also cited that there seemed to be a minor gap on one side of the accessory, so users might be able to pull the S Pen out with the aid of a fingernail. The Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly have an embedded battery pack as well. The phablet will have a premium glass chassis on the front and rear and a metal side rim will go around it.

GSM Arena wrote that the Galaxy Note 5 will have a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a 3840 x 2160 resolution, and run on the in-house Exynos 7422 SoC. The product will reportedly feature a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 5-megapixel front shooter. It will have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The Note 5 will have a 4,100mAh battery and measure 153.3mm x 76.1mm x 7.9mm. The phablet will feature a design that is similar to the Samsung S6, including a non-removable battery and non-expandable internal storage. The Sprint variant is said to offer microSD support. The Note 5 will run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

The 5.7-inch Note 5 is set to launch on August 13, 2015, despite earlier reports that it will release in September. The early launch date is said to be triggered by the upcoming Apple iPhone 6s. The official price is yet to be announced, but most users expect it to be close to the retail price of the Galaxy Note 4 during launch.
