"Jurassic World" became a box office hit this summer by making over $1.5 billion worldwide. With this success, the dinosaur movie will have a sequel set for release on June 22, 2018.

The movie, "Jurassic World," is a reboot of Steven Spielberg's dinosaur franchise 14 years since the release of "Jurassic Park 3." Other than a huge profit, the movie has just become the world's highest-grossing film in history, according to Reuters. The first and second are both James Cameron's movie, "Avatar" and "Titanic."

The dinosaur franchise's fifth instalment will still feature Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Spielberg will still be the executive producer, but "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow will only write the script as he is expected to direct one of the "Star Wars" films.

It does not come to a surprise that Universal Pictures would make a sequel. With success this high, it is only logical for them to make a sequel and rack up some more cash. The fourth instalment of the movie took over a decade to release, as reported by Deadline, is due to the unstable relationship between Universal Pictures' higher up and Spielberg. The producer's film production company, DreamWorks, got really close to making a distribution deal with the studio that owns the lot where his office is. Spielberg then made a last minute distribution alliance with Disney.

Universal Pictures is on an all-time high, earning a total of $2.3 billion this year alone. Their success was made possible by the movies "Furious 7" and "Jurassic World." Other movies that made a significant contribution to this success are "Pitch Perfect 2" and "Fifty Shades of Grey."

The studio became the fastest in making $2 billion in a year and it has only been seven months since 2015 began. For sure, Universal Pictures will have a few more movies to be released this year. A few of such movies include M. Knight Shyamalan's "The Visit;" a drama movie, titled "Everest;" Aaron Sorkin's "Steve Jobs" Biopic; and another horror film by Guillermo del Torro, titled "Crimson Peak."

Going back to the "Jurassic World" sequel, there is still not enough information to cause a bigger hype for fans. Other than two of the returning casts, the executive producer and writer, little is known about the next movie. The film still has no director, plot and no other actors on their list. All the fans can do is to keep checking the Internet for more news and details.
