Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join Lampard, Gerrard and Pirlo in the MLS?

As stars from across the world and, in particular, Europe continue to flood to the MLS, its 20^th season seems set to be the most important season to date.

With this summer already seeing signings of Frank Lampard to New York City and Steven Gerrard to LA Galaxy, as well as former World Footballer of the year Kaka make a move to Orlando City, another huge name from world football could be about to show MLS fans what he can do.

Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been linked with a move away from French Champions Paris Saint-Germain, has hinted that his future could lie in America.

Speaking frankly with Yahoo Sports the Swede said: "I would like to play in the US. I would like to play. Which team? Am I allowed to say that? No, I cannot say that."

Despite still having one year left on his current deal with the French champions, Ibrahimovic continues to be linked with moves away from Paris and after ruling out a move to Manchester United has said he would be keen to experience the MLS.

"I think it would be an amazing experience, I see that soccer is growing a lot in the US. I mean, I was there 10 years ago [and] soccer was not on the level that it is today, but it's growing. It's growing in the right direction and I want it to be on the level of Europe. It will come here."

Ibrahimovic could be further convinced of a move across the Atlantic given the recent moves of superstar players like Lampard, Gerrard and former teammate Andrea Pirlo joining the various marquee players who are currently making their mark in the league.

Ibrahimovic, who scored 30 goals last season for PSG, said that he would want to come and join a team that could match his ambition for winning trophies.

"I don´t want to be the player that comes because of my name, if I come, I want to bring results. Or else I will not come. To win trophies - that is what I play for. That is my job."

Despite being 33, there is no doubt that signing Ibrahimovic would be a huge coup for any side to be able to do. Given his undeniable pedigree and class, as well as his vast experience, he would certainly be a success in the MLS and the prospect of him doing so will surely be exciting for every fan of US soccer.
