The movie adaption to EL.James' "Fifty Shades of Grey Darker" seems to have picked up its first super star actress in the form of Charlize Theron.

Theron will reportedly play the controversial character of Mrs. Robinson, Elena Lincoln, in the sequel. However, according to Examiner, Theron is not the first big name attached to the character. Stars such as Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett and Catherine Zeta-Jones have all been rumored to be in the running to play Mrs. Robinson.

Currently, production to "Fifty Shades of Grey Darker" has not yet started and there hasn't been any news of a director attached to the film yet as well. However, the film has been green lighted to be made. Venture Capital Post reports that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, respectively. There has been no word about the other characters in the book as of yet.

In the book "Fifty Shades Darker," Anastasia begins her new job in Seattle as a personal assistant for editor Jack Hyde at Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP). Jack has been known for harassing his previous five assistants. The plot thickens as it is soon revealed that Christian actually buys SIP and becomes Anastasia's boss.

Elena Lincoln is first introduced in the book at a business party held by Christian at his estate. She serves as an antagonist in the film as she and Anastasia do not really get along due to their affection for Christian. Chaos follows - with Anastasia's life getting extremely affected.

Fans of Theron should not get overly excited. While the actress has been considered for the role as Mrs. Robinson, she has not yet confirmed that she will be playing the part. The role has several risks as Mrs. Robinson plays a very sensual character in the books and might be considered too risky for Theron.

"Fifty Shades Darker" was originally slated for a 2016 release. After director Sam Taylor-Johnson dropped out of the project, however, the movie was pushed back to a Feb 10, 2017 release date. The third movie is also pushed to premiere on Feb 9, 2019.
