A few days ago, Marvel's "Ant-Man" movie was released and reviews are pouring out all over the Internet.

In March of 2014, a sneak peak of the "Ant-Man" movie was shown on a one-hour ABC television special, titled "Marvel Studios: Assembling the Universe." By late June 2015, the movie held its world premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Comic book fans will know that Ant-Man is one of the founding fathers of the Avengers. The size-changing superhero's true identity is Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, who discovered a size altering chemical, called the "Pym Particle." Using a suit to harness the substance's power and a helmet to communicate with ants, he fights crime alongside another core member of the Avengers, his girlfriend Janet van Dyne a.k.a. the Wasp.

Pym was also responsible for the creation of Ultron, a self-aware artificial intelligence in a robot. This fact was not shown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where Ultron was the brainchild of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner.

In the "Ant-Man" movie, audiences follow Pym's (Michael Douglas) successor, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). Lang is the second Ant-Man in the comic book and is a thief.

Reviews on the movie are somewhat conflicted.

Collider's report said the movie may have strayed from the usual world-ending scenario, it failed to deliver a certain pop and confidence. Further, the report states that the movie has dull characters and stale plot beats. Despite having a heist for a plot and using the micro-verse as the setting, the main character did not give Collider enough character arc to be awed. To them, the superhero is only so-so. Basically, Collider gave the movie a very low review and is the total opposite compared to Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy."

The New Zealand Heralad reviewed the "Ant-Man" as something fresh. The report added that for a setting on a microscopic scale, it provided huge amount of fun and excitement. The movie was light, bright, and tight. It was able to squeeze in some important character back-story and a father-daughter drama. For a high-tech heist plot, the movie delivers quite a huge bang in a small and handy package.

The movie is still fresh out on cinemas near you. Whether the movie goers and comic book fans give it a thumbs up or down, will solely be up to what them. A sequel to the "Ant-Man" movie might be expected, depending on its result on the box office and reviews.
