A singer's worst nightmare happened on air! While Patricia Navidad was halfway through her song, a sanitary napkin was seen slipping down between her legs.

During a morning show on Univision's "Despierta America," Mexican mariachi singer Patricia Navidad performed the song "Viva Mexico." To her embarrassment and surprise of the audience, a sanitary napkin was seen falling down from her blue mini dress.

According to Fox News Latino, Navidad's performance video has gone viral. In the clip, the 42-year-old singer seemed aware of what was going on but acted like a professional and carried on with her singing until she finished. Although it was believed to be an accident, some viewers are claiming that it was a publicity stunt to draw more attention to her, as reported by Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Navidad used social media to respond to those who were poking fun of the incident. She addressed all the men who have reacted disrespectfully to the mishap that happened.

"It's sad that there are men who forget they are here because of a woman and are offensive and vulgar against women. They say that a man who treats a woman like a princess has been educated by a queen - those who attack and offend, who educated you?" Navidad wrote in Spanish. "It's too bad they weren't there, the men who were making fun, because I would have love to embarrass you face-to-face."

"Women use sanitary towels, you should use diapers and big ones, because you spread it big! If you guys say it, ok!! My napkin fell, I did not throw it, surely your pants must have fallen by now!" Navidad said.

In another report by Yahoo News UK, Navidad felt the need to defend herself from being cyberbullied. She said that the accident should not be something that she should be embarrassed about or made fun of.

"I want to make it clear that I never threw or would throw the pad. It fell by itself through a very sophisticated tunnel! Thank you, I love you," Navidad added. "This is not something I should be ashamed of or be mocked for."

Patricia first started as an actress in soap operas before becoming a singer. She won Miss Sinaloa when she was just 17-year-old. Navidad was also awarded the "Queen of the Banda" in the Carnival of Mazatlan. Although she had successful roles in telenovelas, she pursued her career in music and released her album "Instantes" back in 1998.
