WWE 2K16 hopes to do better than its predecessor and this early, we are hearing lot of positives for the 2K sports game.

Of course, the hot topic right now is all about Stone Cold Steve Austin who will be appearing on the cover of WWE 2K16. Actually, that issue went a bit overboard, even leading a point where the WWE Universe once again revived rumors of Austin retuning to the ring.

Once again, Austin clarified that just because he will be appearing on the game cover does not indicate that he will be making an in-game return. To justify his claim, he singles out Michael Jordan who appeared as well a couple of years ago on the NBA 2K game cover but didn’t necessarily mean that His Airness was making an NBA comeback.

As far as Austin’s involvement in the game is concerned, it seems that the Rattlesnake will star in WWE 2K16’s Showcase Mode, something that will cover his tale and his experiences during the WWE Attitude era.

Aside from that, WWE 2K16 will reportedly feature a record of 120 unique characters that excludes the retro versions that previous WWE 2K games carried. Though it remains to be seen who is in (and out?), 2K Sports will reportedly try to keep the roster updated as much as it can, including the wrestlers holed up in the WWE NXT brand.

While it remains to be seen which of the current WWE stars will be appearing word has it that one could be a WWE Diva – Eva Marie.

The WWE NXT Diva released a photo of her recording a WWE 2K16 commercial though the actual footage has yet to be seen. Logically, it would seem weird to think that Eva Marie would not be among the characters appearing in the game so chalk up one less character from that overwhelming bunch.

Other WWE stars who have been confirmed include WWE Divas Rosa Mendes, Sasha Banks and the Bulgarian Brute Rusev.

Seth Rollins is another confirmed superstar to be appearing as well as new WWE NXT champion Finn Balor. Check out the video to catch a glimpse of Balor working with Mocap studio.

Rounding up the other confirmed WWE superstars who will appear in WWE 2K16 are Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Paige and Bad News Barrett. Check out the video below.

Though it remains to be seen who would be left out, one WWE Legend reportedly wants in – the Boogeyman. Considering that he is not on the active roster, there could be a slight chance he would be included though there is no guarantee. Below was his tweet obviously directed to 2K Games.

WWE 2K16 is expected to be out by October, 2015 and will release versions for practically all gaming platforms. That includes the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions.
