Wrestlemania 32 is still far way but for the folks who have been plying the rumor mill, possible matches for the WWE’s annual stage have already been afloat. Wrestlemania 32 is scheduled for April 3, 2016 and will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Among the matches that many fans had hoped for was that dream match pitting Sting (Steve Borden) against the Undertaker (Mark William Calaway). That match was supposed to take place at Wrestlemania 31 but the WWE opted to stage Sting going up against WWE legend and COO Triple H.

Both Sting and the Undertaker did share a locker at Wrestlemania 31 and both reportedly exchanged ideas on how their initially expected match could go if it does materialize next year. Unfortunately, WWE CEO Vince McMahon saw the showdown differently, which is believed to be not happening.

Though there is no word on what the future holds for Sting, Wrestlemania 32 could be the end of the road for the Undertaker. The latest word is that it will be a retirement match against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

There are two names being linked to that match, ironically two who are in the middle of a feud – John Cena and Kevin Owens. Both are set to face off at WWE Battleground this coming weekend with the United States title on the line.

A match with Cena could be possible. In fact, a Cena vs. Undertaker showdown has been in the air for the past couple of years but nothing has materialized thus far. However, there is a chance that this could happen at Wrestlemania 32 with Cena expected to come out on top and send the Undertaker to retirement.

A Kevin Owens vs Undertaker match could also make sense, seeing that Owens has adopted to the heel-role pretty well. Between him and Cena, it seems almost easier to see how Owens can feud with the Undertaker which would lead to a face-off at Wrestlemania 32.

Obviously one of the rising stars in the WWE nowadays, Owens stands to gain a lot if he would be chosen to face off against the Phenom. It remains to see however if the retirement would be done with the proper respect for the Undertaker.

Then again, there is that angle where another wrestler (like John Cena or Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson) saving the day. Regardless, the eventual winner here is Owens who stands to get a big boost should he be chosen to face the Undertaker as he takes his last ride.

Anything can still change of course (including McMahon’s decision to scrap the Sting vs Undertaker tiff) in the next nine months, so stay tuned.
