DC revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that there will be two new Superman mini-series coming.

IGN.com reported that Neal Adams will first be writing and drawing a series consisting of six issues called “Coming of the Supermen”. The series will launch in November 2015. The project will be the same as the new “Batman: Odyssey” by Adams which is an independent book. Some of the villains that Superman will face in the upcoming series include Darkseid and Kalibak. There will also be three new heroes from the Bottle City of Kandor, known as the New Krypton. They will join forces with Lex Luthor to battle Darkseid.

The second mini-series is called “Superman: American Alien”, which will consist of seven issues written by Max Landis. The series is set to launch in November 2015 too. Each issue will feature different phases in Clark Kent’s life beginning from his childhood at the Kent farm until his days as the Man of Steel. A group of artists will be helping Landis. Ryan Sook will make the covers. Nick Dragotta, Joelle Jones, Jock, Jae Lee, Tommy Lee Edwards, Jonathan Case and Francis Manapul will be drawing an issue each, based on the same IGN.com report.

Landis said in a report by Newsarama, “I’ve wanted to write a Superman comic for my entire life, and I’m surprised they’re letting me write the one I wanted to write. I sort of wanted to do the opposite of All-Star Superman.”

He continued, “It's seven stories from Clark Kent's life. It's not a redux of his origin. Instead, it's stories Clark might tell you if you were having a beer together."

Neal Adams also described at the SDCC panel how “Coming of the Supermen” will feature Superman fighting all of Jack Kirby’s characters in the Fourth World.

Adams said, “The three new Supermen fall somewhere between the Three Musketeers and Three Stooges," said Adams. At the end, there's a big surprise. They take Superman's blood, and they discover something about Superman, and that's all I can tell you."

Gene Luen Yang, writer of Superman and Greg Pak, writer of Action Comics, shared some details about their comics. Superman will experience some problems about his identity possibly leaking and the reduction of his powers. After “Truth”, the next storyline will be called “Justice”, where the weakening Superman will have to protect his new home. According to Pak, Superman is still focused on protecting the weak, although he will not always be successful because of his current situation.
