iPad Air 3 Arriving in October? Specs, Features, Release Date & Rumors Here!

There are rumors that the iPad Air 3 will be coming in the last quarter of 2015.

GottaBeMobile reported that the iPad Air 3 may launch in October this year, which is the same month as when the Apple iPad Air 2 is also set to drop its price. The iPad Air (2013) and iPad Air 2 (2014) were both launched in October last year, so Apple might follow the same pattern in 2015.

The iPad Air 2 is rumored to feature an A8X 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM which is a first for an iOS device, the Apple Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and a more powerful GPU. Another report by iPadAir3Update revealed that the tablet may feature an A9X chipset, 2K resolution with 3D display with 400ppi, 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The battery is expected to be more powerful to sufficiently support the faster processor, bigger screen and various features.

The Apple iPad Air 3 may also feature face recognition technology that allows users to access the device. The iOS platform may be improved to support multitasking. Some users also expect the tablet to include an external memory slot that will boost its memory. Wireless charging is another feature that users wish to see in the new device. Considering how the technology is already available in iPhones, Apple might launch it on the tablet too.

MacWorld revealed that Apple might maintain the same thickness as the iPad Air 2 and also keep the 9.7-inch size. The tablet might also be offered in three colors – gold, silver and space grey. The device might cost the same as the iPad Air 2 when it was released or $499 for the 16GB, $599 for the 64GB Wi-Fi model and $699 for the 128GB version.The iPad Air 2 is also expected to drop its price by around $99 while the iPad Air 1 is also set to lower its price further in October.

Tech Radar wrote that users also shared what they hoped to find on the iPad Air 3. They expect the new tablet to eliminate the 16GB version from the available choices and immediately offer 32GB of internal memory at least. Users would also like to have better slow motion video and the return of the silencer. Others wanted to have front-facing speakers and for Apple to maintain the current thickness to prevent physical problems.
