Everyone is wondering when "Elder Scrolls 6" is coming out, or whether it's coming out at all. Bethesda has not confirmed anything yet, hence the flood of rumors about this subject.

The much-anticipated title's notable absence at this year's E3 seemed to amplify the buzz about "Elder Scrolls 6." However, Bethesda's "Fallout 4" managed to silence that for a bit as the said game took home the "Best of Show" award at the event.

Could this no-show perhaps be down to the fact that Bethesda is still working on the game? Or could it be down to the developer prioritizing other projects?

"The studio did want to make it clear to their fans that they are doing their best to get the game to a presentable state in time however, but they couldn't give any details about when exactly it's expected to come out," Master Herald noted. "Knowing the studio's size and the number of games that they're working on right now, they probably don't have too many resources to allocate to that project in the end."

To abate fans' increasing demands for a new "Elder Scrolls," Bethesda had released "Elder Scrolls Online" last year, which is set on the continent of Tamriel and has a storyline that has some connections with previous ones in the "Elder Scrolls" series.

This release, however, was not seen by some as a "proper release" due to "a litany of bugs and day-one server issues - alongside some fairly shoddy combat and a general lack of polish - last year's entry in the mythos has been all but forgotten about," as noted by What Culture.

"Thankfully the slack is currently being picked up by Bethesda themselves, who are badgering away putting the next installment of the franchise together," the site added.

On that note, it's been rumored that the next "Elder Scrolls" title may be released in 2016. That is if Bethesda would more or less follow the release pattern observed with previous editions. As What Culture pointed out, "Oblivion" was released in 2006, and "Skyrim" followed in 2011. Perhaps we'll be seeing the next one in 2016 then?

Further, CrossMap said that the upcoming game would be named "Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia," which is reportedly a more "acceptable" title than "Redguard" - the name said to be trademarked by Bethesda.

"But then again; just because it's trademarked, doesn't mean that Bethesda's actually going to use it," the site said.
