In the past, Sony has been behind in the race when it comes to mobile phones. Just recently, the Internet was buzzling with rumors about Sony's new line of phones that will make waves.

The underwhelming results of Sony's Xperia Z3+ and the Xperia Z4 pushed the company to step up their game. Sony is said to unveil three phones, as reported by Phone Arena, in Japan by September: Sony Xperia Z5, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra.

There are several features that will be considerably upgraded from the last line up of Xperias, according to Sony. The Xperia Z5 is said to have a much better camera with a 21mp rear camera with LED flash, autofocus, Exmor RS IMx230 CMOS and $K video recording, as reported by Tech Times.

The phone is also set to house Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC Central Processing Unit (CPU) with 4 GB RAM and a micro SD card slot. The processing power of the 820 is said to be slightly better than its predecessor, Snapdragon 810. It might be slightly more powerful than the previous models, the Z5 will still not catch up to the Exynos 7420 that runs on the Samsung Galaxy S6.

The Xperia Z5 series is also said to have a wider screen. The previous Xperia Z3+/Xperia Z4v housed a 5.2 screen, so it is expected that the new Xperia Z5 will provide consumers with a bigger screen and better resolution. On the other hand, these are just speculations.

Rumors have spread that the new Sony Xperia Z5 will have a monstrous 4500 mAh and will run on Android's v5.1.1 Lollipop Operating System (OS).

New rumors about Sony's new line of smartphones are popping out like mushrooms all over the web. One of which states that the Xperia Z5 series will have a fingerprint scanner that put the smartphone in the same race as the iPhone6 and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The other rumor claims details on the phone's overall look. There was a leaked photo of Sony's new model just this April that showed the new Sony Xperia Z5 to have a metallic casing and the camera still located at the top left of the device.

The last of these hearsays mentioned the "Type-C." This is a possible hint that the smartphone will have the new USB-C port.

All in all, these are just rumors with a lot of inconsistencies. Meanwhile, consumers are hoping that Sony will deliver a better gadget than their last release. As to getting more information, waiting for official announcements is still the best option.
