The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will be rolling out on three LG devices.

Phone Arena reported that the new OS update will become available to the LG G2, LG G Stylo and LG Leon. T-Mobile began updating the LG G Stylo and LG Leon smartphones in the first week of July 2015. The two handsets were launched in May 2015 and came with the Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The Android 5.1.1 will be available over-the-air (OTA) and will provide a number of improvements, such as improving the display, increasing battery life for Wi-Fi calling and enhancing notifications.

The LG G Stylo is a midrange smartphone that features a 5.7-inch 720p screen, LTE connectivity, a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera and a stylus pen. The handset costs $289. On the other hand, the LG Leon is a midrange smartphone that includes a Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, 8GB of expandable internal memory and a 4.5-inch display with a 480 x 854 resolution. The device costs $139, based on the same Phone Arena report. Sprint is also offering the LG G Stylo running on the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Android Pit revealed that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will also become available on the LG G2 in the next two months. An insider who works at LG stated that the update will provide some updates to the smartphone as well as update the user interface to LG UX 4.0. There will be new features added which are already available on the flagship model, the LG G4. No definite date of release was mentioned but the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is predicted to be offered OTA in a couple of months. Carrier-branded models will require more time for testing. Some carriers will take longer to finish the process compared to others.

Tech Times stated that with the new OS update, LG G2 users will have the same system onscreen buttons that match the Android Lollipop’s style. The icons will still be the same as the LG G3. No changelog was given but people should find several features that are present on the current LG G4. The latest update is dubbed LMY488. There is still no confirmation whether the Android 5.1.1 will also be rolled out on the LG G3 and LG G Flex 2. The update posed several technical issues with the latter devices, particularly Wi-Fi and connectivity problems.
