Samsung will release a new midrange smartphone, which will be reportedly be cheaper and better.

Android Origin wrote that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo is poised to be an upgrade of the Galaxy S5 model, featuring more powerful components as well as an affordable price. The S5 Neo is rumored to have an octa-core CPU with eight Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The phone will also reportedly feature a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM and a microSD card slot to expand its storage capacity. There are speculations that the Neo will use the standard Samsung TouchWiz. The device is also said to have a 16-megapixel rear shooter, a 5-megapixel front camera and a 2,800mAh battery, just like the original Galaxy S5. The 5-megapixel upgrade is similar to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy A series and Galaxy S6 Edge. The primary and secondary cameras will include sensors made by Samsung.

Based on a report by Sam Mobile, the Galaxy S5 Neo will basically weigh and measure the same as the Galaxy S5. The weight will be 145 grams while the dimensions are 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm. The enhancements involve the front camera, network connectivity and the less powerful processor. The device is said to run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It may also feature a dual-SIM version to launch in countries like Russia, China and India. The dual-SIM models will have model number SM-G903FD. Pre-ordering for the midrange smartphone has already commenced in the Czech Republic, and shipping is said to begin on July 3, 2015. The device costs around $490. The phone should be made available in the United States in the coming weeks.

Sam Mobile also reported that the S5 Neo will feature the new 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7580 processor. The Galaxy S5 previously included the Exynos 5422 or Snapdragon 801. The GPU will be a Mali-T720. The phone will also have LTE-A connectivity. Users can choose either black or white color for their phone.

Vine Report wrote that there were rumors that the S5 Neo have already entered India for testing and evaluation. The phone model in the country was SM-G750, listed as SM-G750A, SM-G750F and SM-G750H, which may be regional model numbers for the device.

No official release date has been confirmed by Samsung in the meantime, but more details are expected in the following days.
