Rihanna and Chris Brown are not the only on-and-off again celebrity couple rumored to be rekindling the old flames. Justin Bieber has been reported to be pining for his ex-ladylove Selena Gomez recently, thanks to a clue left by his new music video.

"Justin dropped the music video for his latest single, Skrillex and Diplo's 'Where Are U Now,' on Monday, in which fans see a much more vulnerable side of the 21-year-old singer," Entertainment Tonight said. "In the video, people are asked to come into a gallery and graffiti over photos of his face. At one point during the trippy video, the writing spells out, 'Where r now, Selena.'"

If you want to spot the message yourself, check out the video below and wait for that telling graffiti to flash at the 1:20 mark. You have to keep your eyes peeled and unblinking each nanosecond to catch it!

There's also another shot that reiterates the same message, plus another one that says "Jelena 5Ever!" according to Hollywood Life.

The video came with a description that could explain that Selena reference: "Justin wrote this record during a tough time in his life and it comes to us that sometimes, as artists, we are also just objects and we have to take that as much as we have to use that to create."

Was his shoutout to Sel just his way of paying homage to his past affiliation with her? Or was he trying to tug at her heartstrings in the hopes of starting things over again with the 22-year-old singer?

Justin's rep has later told Hollywood Life that viewers should not read too much into those messages.

"All the video's art was done by fans, and Justin had nothing to do with it," the site relayed. "But he could have easily decided not to include those with messages about Selena, and he definitely didn't."

Is it possible for the Biebs to release a video without knowing what went into it? Tell us what you think!

Meanwhile, RyanSeacrest.com recalled an interview with Justin back in May, where he revealed Sel is a significant inspiration for him.

"I think a lot of my inspiration comes from [Selena]," he revealed. "It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. There's a lot of that on this album."

With that, we wonder what the "Good For You" singer has to say about these things. If we believe another Hollywood Life source, it appears that she "can't help but wonder if Justin was in fact trying to send her a message that he misses her," although she reportedly isn't reading much into it and isn't sure what to make of it.
