WNBA forward Glory Johnson is in the middle of annulment proceedings with Brittney Griner and the developing story between the two seems to be getting more interesting.

This was after Johnson announced via Instagram that she is nine-weeks pregnant and carrying twins.

Johnson, currently with the Tulsa Shock, is sitting out the current season due to the pregnancy, something planned by way of IVF.

“It has always been a dream of mine to start a family with someone I love,” Johnson said via the New York Times. Last June 4. “The entire process, from learning our fertility options, to making the sacrifices necessary nine months before this child is born, is merely preparing me to become a great wife and an even better mother.”

Johnson and Grinner tied the knot back in May 8 but the marriage didn’t more than a month after Griner filed for annulment of their marriage, calling it ‘void based on fraud and stress’ last June 5, a day after the couple had announced that Johnson was pregnant.

The last two months have been filled with issues between the two. Aside from the marriage, the announcement of the pregnancy and the eventual annulment, the two were even arrested for domestic violence just 17 days after they were married.

The arrest didn’t sit well with the WNBA who eventually meted a seven-game suspension on the two players for the first seven games of the season.

Days after she filed the annulment, Griner termed their marriage a ‘huge’ mistake and added that she had tried multiple times to delay their May 8 wedding.

“Sometimes you feel pressured into things,” Ms. Griner said. “I went along with it” says Griner from NYT.

And while the annulment has to gain any ground, it seems that Griner is seeking to be absolved of any responsibility for the twins that Johnson is carrying. This includes being absolved from alimony, stating that the pregnancy was made possible via vitro fertilization using Johnson’s eggs and a donor’s sperm.

Hence, Griner is batting that there is no biological connection between her and the unborn child (children).

As far as Johnson is concerned, the whole issue seems to be far from important to her. Her post on Instagram somehow sums up what she plans to do in light of the impending annulment.
