The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are rumored to be released soon. Fans are already talking about the possible specs and features of the new flagship models.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is said to release in the third quarter of 2015 or between July and September 2015, before the IFA conference.

Phone Arena reported that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus and S6 Edge Plus appears like an oversized Galaxy S6, as requested by various users. An alleged image of the S6 Edge Plus was provided by @OnLeaks on Twitter, who stated that the model measures 6.08 x 2.98 x 0.26 inches, and features a 5.5-inch display, instead of the previously believed 5.7-inch screen. The S6 Edge Plus is expected to be longer and wider than the S6 Edge, which currently measures 5.59 x 2.76 x 0.28 inches, with a 5.1-inch screen. The Galaxy S6 Plus is said to have a display measuring between 5.5 and 5.7 inches.

Phone Arena also cited that the Galaxy S6 Plus will include a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will not include S-Pen functionality and other phablet features. RAW photography was reportedly added to the list of software.

Previously, YouTuber Marques Brownlee presented supposedly leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus in a video. It seems that the Galaxy S6 Plus is included in a secret project called “Project Zero”, formerly dubbed as “Project Zen”. The model is expected to launch in the next few weeks, and not at the 2015 IFA. Digital Trends wrote that the S6 Plus will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen and the same high-resolution display as the standard Galaxy S6. It will have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor as the LG G4 32GB of internal storage, a 16-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front camera.

Recombu reported that the two upcoming phablets suggest that Samsung will still be using Qualcomm chips instead of their own Exynos chip, which the Galaxy S6 had. Tipster @OnLeaks stated that Samsung will use the Snapdragon 808 for the Galaxy S6 Plus, which is a good processor, although not equal to the Exynos 7420. Most likely, Samsung will stick with the older chip for convenience and to possibly cut down on the retail price.

An official announcement from Samsung is expected regarding the two smartphones in the coming weeks.
