There are rumors that “Big Hero 7” will be launching in 2017.

Toronto Sun reported that Marvel executive producer Stan Lee may have given fans a clue during a promotional event for Gillete razors inspired by Marvel as to when the sequel of “Big Hero 6” is coming. According to Lee, they will begin working on the sequel after they complete “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”. He also mentioned that they will work on “Ant-Man”, “Doctor Strange”, “The Black Panther”, and “The Inhumans” before returning to “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”. “Big Hero 7” will most likely come before the next installments of “The Avengers” and “Captain America”.

“I don’t even know how they decide what to do next, because every one of them is so exciting and the public is waiting for them,” Lee said during the event.

Movie Pilot revealed that “Big Hero 7” will focus on a character from the first movie – Tadashi, main protagonist Hiro Hamada’s brother. Tadashi will become a villain in the next installation, but will eventually join the good guys to become the team’s newest member. In “Big Hero 6”, Tadashi was believed to have died during a building explosion. However, many believe that he survived the fire for some reason, and turned out to be Sunfire, one of the original members of the first team and a well-known character in the Marvel universe.

Sunfire is a Japanese mutant with the ability to absorb het and convert it into plasma. In the comic books, he acquired his superpowers from the Hiroshima nuclear blast radiation. He was a villain after being possessed by a super villain known as Everwraith, although there is still no word whether Disney will incorporate the character to suit the storyline. Aside from the original Big Hero 6, Sunfire was also portrayed as a member of the Avengers and X-Men.

The voice actors of the original film are all expected to return for the sequel. Ryan Potter voiced Hiro Hamada, Scott Adsit voiced Baymax, Daniel Henny voiced Tadashi Hamada, Damon Wayans Jr. took on the role of Wasabi, Paul Briggs served as Mr. Yama, Maya Rudolph played Aunt Cass and Stan Lee played Fred’s Father.

Master Herald wrote that “Big Hero 6” was a huge success at the box office, raking in over $222 million in North American and over $429 million abroad. The first film launched on November 7, 2014 and debuted for over $15 million. “Big Hero 7” is expected to generate massive revenues when it launches in 2017, considering the warm reception of its predecessor.
