A new version of the Sony PlayStation 4 is arriving soon, boasting a bigger storage drive.

Sony confirmed that the 1TB PlayStation 4 model, dubbed “The Ultimate Player Version”, will be available in Europe and a number of select areas in the PAL region beginning July 15, 2015. The device is also expected to arrive in North America in the holiday season.

The PlayStation Blog stated that the new hard drive is twice the size of the standard model, which has 500GB. Considering how many games at present require sizable installs and how several gamers purchase their games exclusively from the internet, 1TB would help meet their needs, particularly in the multiplayer aspects. Having a bigger download library will allow players to store more games as well as keep all their highlights. Gamers were also advised to check with their local retailer regarding the price of the upcoming product, but users expect it to be the same or slightly more expensive than the standard version.

Kotaku reported that Sony will also be releasing a lighter version of the PlayStation 4, which will become available in Japan before the end of June 2015. The home console system will also become available worldwide in the following weeks. The upcoming product weighs only 2.5 kilograms and measures 275 x 53 x 305 mm, which is 10 percent lighter compared to the standard PS4. It also utilizes 8 percent less energy.

TIME wrote that the best feature of the new PS4 models is not actually the bigger hard drive, but the added efficiency, due to its reduced size and power consumption. Gamers can take advantage of the larger available space and grab the latest available game titles, free or otherwise. The full specifications of the 1TB version are expected to arrive in the coming days.

Based on a SCEI report, the new CUH-1200 series will be offered in Glacier White and Jet Black colors and features a matte hard bay cover. The product is expected to go on sale late in June. The system will be available at $399. Sony also reportedly registered a 1TB version of the lighter model, although the new version only has 500GB.

IGN revealed that the lighter PlayStation 4 features a single-chip custom processor. It has an octa-core x86-64 AMD Jaguar processor, a 1.84 TFLOPS, AMD next-generation Radeon-based graphics engine, 8GB of RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, an optical port, and an AUX port, and Ethernet and Bluetooth connective capability.
