If you thought that "Iron Man 4" debate was settled, perhaps you've been a bit a bit pessimistic.

Although "Iron Man" star Robert Downey, Jr. said last year that there's no further follow up on the successful movie franchise, Marvel has not officially announced the conclusion of the said superhero series. Which means there's a chance that a part 4 will be made.

According to Master Herald, it's likely that "there won't be any official statement from Marvel about 'Iron Man 4' until after the studio completes the filming of the two-part third 'Avengers' movie in 2017."

Some rumors regarding the hazy possibility of "Iron Man 4" said that RDJ reportedly would be charging higher for the next film due to part 3's success. The new asking price would reportedly be too much for the studio to match, hence the rumored scrap.

"But fans need not fret because there's a huge chance that Marvel will still push with 'Iron Man 4,'" said Venture Capital Post. "Everyone knows that the Iron Man franchise is a huge hit and there is no way that Marvel would let go of that opportunity. Despite Robert Downey Jr. partly bringing the success of the franchise, there is a rumor that there will be a new Iron Man and it is Harley Keener, played by Ty Simpkins."

This speculation may be a hard sell considering RDJ's fan base and his solid association to his character Tony Stark. However, the actor was asked about that possibility, to which he gave an evasive answer.

When asked if he would let some other actor play the billionaire inventor, he laughed and said, "I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I'm casting director for Marvel," Variety noted.

Sounds like he found the idea absurd.

Meanwhile, another rumor has it that the silence over the IM sequel could be down to a "timing issue," Master Herald said.

"The studio does not want to over-saturate Marvel fans with loads of Iron Man who has been in the movie world since the release of the first 'Iron Man' movie in April 2008," the site explained.

Right now, RDJ is slated to appear as the Iron Man in other movies, such as "Captain America: Civil War" (2016), "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" (2018), and "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" (2019). With that, we'll still be seeing the red-armored superhero around even though "Iron Man 4" has not been green-lighted yet.
