The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will officially roll out on more Motorola phones.

TechWorm reported that the update will be made available on the Moto G 1st and 2nd Generation, the Moto X 1st and 2nd Generation and the Moto E 2nd Generation LTE. The Android M is reportedly already in development so Android smartphone makers are quickly introducing \ the Android 5.1 Lollipop to newer product releases.

Yibada revealed that the Moto G2 directly updated into the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop from the Android 4.4 KitKat. The other phones were among the first to have the Android 5.0 Lollipop available when it released in November 2014.

Yibada cited that the Moto X and Moto G will receive the update, but Motorola stated that they are still working with Google to ensure that Android 5.1.1 will perform well on the Moto 360. For users who had some issues and bugs on the Android 5.0, they can expect several fixes that will improve both stability and performance. There will be new features too like Guest Mode, which allows multiple users to access the device and offers added protection to the owner. Guest Mode also lets users save their own messages and apps. A Kids Mode feature will also be available to provide additional safety to users.

Tech Times cited that although the Android 5.1 offers various fixes to bugs, there are thousands of usage variations and environment conditions that would make it impossible to make the OS completely bug-free.

Users of the Moto G 2nd Generation will notice an enhanced camera and a bigger screen compared to its predecessor, based on the same TechWorm report. Android 5.1 Lollipop also brings back the silent mode which was lacking on the Android 5.0. It improved RAM battery management, fixed Wi-Fi and sound problems and fixed apps that suddenly close during operation. With the new Android Lollipop 5.1,

Moto smartphone users will have native support for versions that include more than one SIM-cards. Users can further join Wi-Fi networks as well as manage paired Bluetooth devices straight from the Quick Settings portion of the notification bar.

The update was expected to become available beginning June 10, 2015, but others might find the notification at a later period. The update may also be done manually. Users can go to Settings, then About Phone, and then Software Update to check if the update is already available. Users can then connect to a Wi-Fi network and charge their phone to begin the download and installation process without interruption.
