Fans of Rihanna are anxiously waiting for her "R8" album. This is probably why the singer made a surprise visit to Cuba which is assumed to be the location of her newest music video.
In a report by San Diego Union Tribune, the Barbadian singer shocked her fan base in Cuba when they saw her cruising down Havana's Malecon shore while riding a classic 1950's American convertible. Young people and children gathered around to take pictures of Rihanna while security kept them from getting too close to the "Diamonds" singer.
According to a Cuban state media, the singer arrived in Cuba last week on a Wednesday and made a surprise appearance at the La Fontana restaurant. The media also added that the 27-year-old singer shot a couple of music video footages in the central district of El Vedado and at the La Guardia restaurant.
Latin Post reports that for her "R8" album, the singer might go back to her roots. According to founder and producer of Mixpak Records DJ Dre Skull, RiRi has been reaching out to a couple of dancehall reggae artists.
"I know firsthand and secondhand that she's been reaching out to a lot of people in the dancehall world. I'm not suggesting it's gonna be [a dancehall album] but [her people] are excited about dancehall and to work in that sort of context," Skull said.
"They've reached out to Popcaan, but I've talked to a number of people in Jamaica that they've reached out to. I'm not suggesting that I know what will happen, but I do know they've talked to a bunch of artists that I know," he added further.
While the singer works hard for her upcoming album which is long-awaited by her fans, Rihanna was recently pictured in New York wearing a slogan dress for her haters.
The songstress stepped out on a rainy night in NYC wearing a backless sequined dress with a message that says "You will never own me" on the front and "Will never fear you" on the back. The singer is also noticeably sporting a new red colored hair after her Cuba trip.
Rihanna known for her carefree, no-fuss, and badass attitude says nothing this time but her dress definitely speaks volume. She is often criticized for her style, music and sexuality but the singer has learned not to pay too much attention.
