Had enough of "GTA 5"? That's unfortunate, as "GTA 6" remains a distant possibility.

"We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas," said Leslie Benzies, Rockstar Games chief, as quoted by Develop.

That statement is apparently a loaded one, and can be considered a confirmation that there will be a "GTA 5" sequel. However, that plan sounds also like it could dissipate into thin air at some point.

"It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in," Benzies said further.

"We throw stuff in the pot, and the good stuff stays and the bad stuff disappears - there are a lot of gatekeepers at the studio, who ensure not much of the chaff makes it through. Some of the good ideas, like the three characters, stick around," he explained.

Sounds like "GTA 6" is definitely a go. Or will Rockstar end up developing the game under a different title altogether?

Meanwhile, some rumors state that the game may involve the entire United States as playing ground, with Rockstar reportedly mapping the entire country for the upcoming game, as noted by Design&Trend. This report, however, remained unconfirmed, although if proven true, will no doubt excite many "GTA" fans.

Well, what do you think? Some fans appear to be asking for a return to London - a proposition that Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser is also partial to, but with a hitch.

"These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it would be a GTA game," he mused to The Guardian. "I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them - I just don't think it would be a GTA necessarily."

He also added that GTA is essentially America, implying that a London setting (or any other location outside the US) is unlikely to make the final cut. Which makes the country mapping rumor one that is likely to turn into a reality.

Regarding the upcoming title's release date, observers peg a 2018 or 2019 release, considering that the game's makers may want to milk "GTA 5" for all its worth revenue-wise, considering that Rockstar can make a ton of profits with in-game money sales via GTAO. CinemaBlend speculated that the game's developer "has every reason to take their time with the sequel, even if GTA 6 could be another record-setting launch," as releasing a sequel too soon may hurt the current game's "sales potential."
