Earlier in April, Phone Arena stated that Android 5.1 has been certified for the Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The new firmware version is 23.2.A.0.278. Users should expect several improvements with the new update, such as longer battery life, enhancements to the 64-bit ART compiler to let apps open faster. Some of the other improvements cover RAM management and system stability. Security features and initiating Google Voice Search have also been improved.

Master Herald revealed that the Sony Xperia Z also has a EuphoriaOS Android 5.1.1 build. Users are advised to root their devices via SuperSU before starting the installation process. There were no special instructions on flashing the device. Users who already started a custom ROM installation on their phones should experience no issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is about to get the Android 5.1.1, via a different project. Users have to use the BlissPop ROM, which is based on CyanogenMod 12.1 but includes several customization features that will alter the user experience much. A number of users were confused when they discovered a few features of the OS when they used it initially. Overall, it is well-designed and works smoothly. Master Herald wrote that Galaxy S3 users should also check that they have model number I9300 before moving on with the installation. The flashing procedure is generally direct so those who used it before should perform the same approach. There were no more specific requirements given.

There are also new custom Android Builds being presented with new features. Some users would take the risk of bricking their device, although a bricked phone can also be restored conveniently using the right tools.
